Our school's entry into this year's Drama Festival was successfully performed on 3rd March from 11:15 to 11:45am in the school hall. The play From the Ashes is about an old restaurant in Happy Valley that is famous for its egg tarts.

Famine Lunch
The annual Famine Lunch was held on 24 February 2010 with more than 500 Paulinians participating. 33 parents volunteered to help in the distribution of bread and the enumeration. A total of $12,000 was collected and will be donated to the victims of the Haiti Earthquake through Caritas Hong Kong.

Painting on Fabric 2009
The Painting on Fabric 2009: Mixed Media Painting Competition was held on 18th December, 2009. This year, participants had to demonstrate their sewing power as well as their painting skills! Materials varying from chicken wire to CDR were applied onto the fabric. The Visual Arts students from CCC Ming Kei College also came and participated in this exciting event.

Food Bank Project
Students from 4D and 4E organized a service project to ask for donation of food for the Food Bank of the Hong Kong New Immigrants Association. The whole school participated actively and more than 25 cartons of food were collected and would be delivered to the Food Bank to help the needy. Paulinians, well done!

比賽於二零零九年十二月十五日假座學校禮堂舉行，為是次比賽擔任評判的是前教育局高級學校中文發展主任葉寶瑩女士。十五個參賽同學以話劇、對話等形式演繹讀書心得。比賽最後由中一乙班的鍾嘉穎同學勇奪冠軍，而中一丙班的鍾子霖同學及中一甲班的陳卓樂同學則分別奪得亞軍及季軍。

Over 20 students were invited to join a guided tour of the Tai Tam Waterworks Heritage Trail, organised by the Hong Kong Architecture Centre. The trail is a 5 km long covering 21 declared historic waterworks monumental structures.

A drama workshop was successfully organised by the English Drama Club.
40 students from F.2 to F.3 participated in the workshop, wherein they learnt about various aspects related to drama such as voice projection, body awareness and character analysis, just to name a few.

比賽在二零零九年十一月廿三日在學校禮堂進行，十位參賽同學在台上以話劇、對話等形式向台下觀眾推介好書。為是次比賽擔任評判的是前教育局高級學校中文發展主任，周葉寶瑩女士。繼去年兩次同類比賽，周太讚揚同學的表現比去年進步，不但反省具深度，而且演說技巧亦見熟練不少。比賽最後由中二丙班的李嘉恩同學及林穎彤同學勇奪冠軍，而中二丁班的廖沛琛同學則奪得季軍。

教育局於二零零八年十月成立「課本及電子學習資源發展」專責小組，就課本及電子學習資源發展向教育局局長提出建議，幫助制訂有關的未來發展策略及措施。

2009 Harvard Book Prize Award Ceremony
The Harvard Book Prize was awarded to Clarie Lee (6AS), Regine Loo (6AS), and Kitty Wong (6B) for their excellence in scholarship and high character, and achievement in sports, and social and religious service.
They attended the prize presentation ceremony on 13th May, 2009 and were delighted to receive their awards from Harvard University Professor Harry Lewis, and Under Secretary for Education Kenneth Chen Wei-On.

Joyful Fruit Day 09
Latest studies have confirmed the essential role of fruit and vegetables in healthy eating and their benefit in reducing the risk of common killer diseases. The Home Economics Department and Ecology & Health Club jointly organized Fruit Parties on 30th April, 09 to encourage our fellow Paulinians to have two to three servings of fruit every day. Special thanks should be given to the Parent-Teacher Association for their active participation and sponsoring the activity.

The Creative Arts Workshop (Hong Kong Island), which is part of the inaugural Arts Ambassadors-in-School Scheme organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and Hong Kong Institute of Aesthetic Education, was held in SPSS on 18 April 2009. More than 25 Paulinians from Form 3 to Form 6 were also recruited as helpers to provide assistance to the tutors.

This three-part activity began in early March, 2009. In the first part, an art display and video appreciation session on global warming was held from 12 to 17 March, 2009. The second part was a talk on climate change and poverty. Mr. Spencer Lo, Assistant Education Officer of Oxfam Hong Kong, shared his thoughts on the topic with the Form 3 and 5 students on 19 March, 2009.

The Know Drug No Drug competition was jointly organized by the Hong Kong Police (Wan Chai), JPC and the Wan Chai District Board. It was opened to all secondary schools in the Wan Chai district. Of the 106 winners, 98 were from SPSS, that means 92.5% of the winners were Paulinians. Well done, girls !

Hong Kong Rehabilitation Power conducted a whole day workshop called ‘Life Builder’ for our Form 3 students on 19th January, 2009. It was an experiential training which helped students reinforce positive values and attitudes through mass games and exercises. Feedback from students was encouraging. They were motivated and inspired to move forward in life.

Staff from the Hong Kong Red Cross delivered a talk on blood donation to our senior students. Students gained more thorough understanding about the process of blood donation and the contribution they can make through the act.
