Resumption of Class

Centre for Health Protection (CHP) confirmed on 19 January 2012 that a Form 3 student contracted Scarlet Fever. Education Bureau (EDB), after an assessment with CHP, has announced a class suspension for the School for one day on 20 January 2012.

The School has already strengthened the sanitation of the environment, including the cleaning and disinfection of the school premises. As a result, classes will resume as scheduled on 1 February 2012.

EDB will have close connection with CHP and the School so that appropriate support could be provided.

Please check your SMS and email for updated information concerning the latest temperature-checking procedures and the arrangements upon class resumption.

學校復課安排

茲因衛生防護中心在一月十九日確診本校一名中三級學生感染猩紅熱，教育局與衛生署就有關個案作出評估後，宣佈本校於一月二十日停課一天。

學校已加強環境衛生措施，包括為校舍進行清潔和消毒，故此學校將按原定校曆於二月一日復課。

教育局會與衛生署及學校保持緊密聯繫，繼續提供適當的支援。

有關復課後學生量度體溫的安排，會以短訊及電郵通知家長 / 監護人及學生，敬希察閱垂注。

In Memory of Nadia Yu

It is with great sadness that Nadia Yu of Form 3A, our Paulinian, has passed away recently. May her soul rest in peace.

A requiem mass will be held shortly. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

Caroling at Four Seasons Hotel
The School Senior Choir was invited by the Four Seasons Hotel to sing carols at the hotel lobby on 20th and 21st December 2011. Under the direction of Mr. E.Ng, our music teacher, the Choir performed a 45-minute program of Christmas songs, featuring John Rutter’s Angel’s Carol and G.F. Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus.

Harp Performance – a Feast of Celestial Sound
Thanks to the Harp Chamber, two world-class renowned harpists, Ms Dan Yu, the Champion of the USA International Harp Competition 2001 and Ms Yeung Lau Yee, a double Master Degree holder, paid a visit to our school and performed incredibly wonderful harp music to all Paulinians. Both Maestri displayed their excellent virtuoso skills by playing several pieces of harp music by composers of different periods, ranging from classical to modern.

The 7th Chinese Universities Shakespeare Festival
Around 30 Paulinians from the F.4 Literature in English class attended the captioned activity. Teams from universities on the Mainland as well as Hong Kong performed scenes from Shakespearean plays, including the famous The Merchant of Venice and Romeo and Juliet. This experience reinforces the idea that plays are to be watched and enjoyed, rather than simply read and studied.

A Staff Development Day was held on 20 May 2011 (Friday). Earth Hour 2011
Our school will once again join the rest of Hong Kong in conserving the environment by supporting Earth Hour 2011. All lights in the school will be switched off starting from 8:30 p.m. on 26th March 2011. The school has also been going beyond Earth Hour and switching off all of the lights every night this entire year.

Speech Day 2009-2010
It is our distinct pleasure to have Her Honor Judge Mimmie Chan, the District Court Judge, who is also a Paulinian, with us on Speech Day. Judge Chan shared with us how memorable her moments at SPSS were and how her friends and teachers from her alma mater influenced her greatly in life. This occasion also heralds the Golden Jubilee of our school, which adds double significance to this unique occasion. The evening ended with soothing melodies performed by the school choir and school orchestra.
